Nonprofit Training and Leadership Development

The Center for Strong Communities is committed to working cooperatively to establish ongoing learning opportunities for nonprofit management, leadership development and community problem-solving.

As a part of the Nonprofit Community Collaboration, a partnership of the Blount Chamber Foundation, Center for Strong Communities at Maryville College, and the United Way of Blount County, we will continue to offer the Nonprofit Training and Enrichment Seminar as an annual event. This half-day conference offers low-cost professional development workshops for nonprofit volunteer, staff, and board members. Previous seminars have included topics on marketing and communications for nonprofits, logic modeling for evaluating outcomes, and new and creative thoughts on fundraising.

Upcoming Workshops and Seminars

School for Nonprofits

In addition to one-time events, the Collaboration will begin this year with a new endeavor. The School for Nonprofits will begin this September, offering a year-long schedule of informational workshops for nonprofit leaders. To view the full list of available classes, click here.

Executive Director's Roundtable

As a part of the Nonprofit Community Collaboration, these Roundtables are held on the third Thursday of every month. Each Roundtable offers an opportunity for local Executive Director's to gather, share information, and learn from one another. When necessary, experts in the field of the current topic will be available to answer questions and facilitate discussion. If you would like to join in on any of these conversations, e-mail strongcommunities@maryvillecollege.edu to be placed on the invitation list.
