Bio: Dr. Meyer is Associate Professor of Religion and Philosophy at Maryville College, teaching courses in ethics, philosophy, New Testament, and theology. He earned a B.A., from Northwestern University; a B.D., University of Edinburgh, Scotland; an M.A. and Ph.D., from the University of Chicago.

Meyer has written many scholarly articles and reviews on religion, philosophy and ethics in journals such as The International Journal for the Philosophy of Religion, The Journal of Religion, and The Journal for the Society of Christian Ethics. He has also published numerous articles and letters dealing with issues of ethics and public policy in newspapers such as The Tennessean, The Knoxville News Sentinel, The Daily Times, The Indianapolis Star and The New York Times.

Most recently, Meyer led the effort to secure a $2M grant from the Lilly Endowment for the College’s Initiative on Vocation. Meyer continues his work with the Initiative on Vocation serving as the program’s executive director.
