The College:
A private, four-year, co-educational, liberal arts college. Founded in 1819, Maryville is the 12th-oldest institution of higher education in the South and one of the 50 oldest colleges in the United States. Maryville is one of only 12 colleges selected by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) and the National Policy Center on the First Year of College to participate as a founding member in the national project, “Foundations of Excellence in the First Year of College.”

Location:
Maryville College is located in the city of Maryville, just 15 minutes south of Knoxville, Tennessee's third-largest city. By car, the college is accessible by Interstate 40 from the east and west, and by Interstate 75 from the north and south. McGhee-Tyson Airport is just five miles north of campus.

Faculty:
Ninety-one percent of full-time faculty members have doctoral degrees or appropriate terminal degrees. The student/faculty ratio is 14 to 1, with an average class size of 16. Personalized instruction and student-professor contact are the hallmarks of a Maryville College education.

Majors:
Fifty diverse fields of study; pre-professional programs are offered in business administration, law, theology/ ministry, medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, physical therapy and other health-related professions.

Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music degrees. Certification is available in elementary and secondary education. Dual degree programs are offered in engineering and health care/nursing.

Athletics:
Member of the NCAA’s Division III. The College offers 14 varsity sports. Men’s sports include baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, football, soccer and tennis. Women’s sports include basketball, cheerleading, cross country, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. Club sports include an equestrian team and dance. Intramural sports are also offered.
