Maryville College is seeking applicants for the position of Director of Community Engagement.  This is a full-time position.

Job Status:  Exempt, E-2

Job Summary:  Coordinates the college’s outreach to community agencies for the purpose of enriching student engagement in community service and preparation for lives of service in the not-for-profit sector. This position oversees placement for service-related scholarship programs and student internships with community agencies; and develops, carries out, and supports programs that underscore the connection between academics and service at the college, by performing the following duties:  

Cultivates relationships with and serves as point of contact between not-for-profit agencies and the college. Develops, publicizes, and coordinates non-profit student placements. Raises awareness on campus about community needs, and links these needs to academic programs, student groups, and individuals, as appropriate. Initiates, plans, and coordinates faculty training and support for service-learning and community-based research (CBR) classes at the college. Serves as liaison between faculty interested in service-learning and CBR and community agencies. Assesses the community engagement levels of MC programs and individuals. Coordinates placement of Bonner Scholars in service sites. Participates actively in the Bonner network, especially in regard to capacity-building and community partnership development requirements            

Requirements:  Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree (M.A.) preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Basic computer knowledge is required.  Valid Tennessee Driver’s license is required.
