Maryville College is seeking applicants for the position of Director of Career Resources. This is a full-time position.

Job Status: Exempt, F-2
Job Summary: Cultivates and maintains a wide range of individual and institutional on- and off-campus relationships to connect MC students and alumni with opportunities for internships and employment. Also provides career-related information to individuals and groups that support career planning, exploration, and placement.
Fosters existing and builds new relationships with potential employers and other off-campus organizations and entities to promote the strengths of our students and advance the reputation of the College. Collaborates and coordinates with other College programs and offices to promote and extend external partnerships. Assists in connecting students and alumni to valuable experiential vocational opportunities. Works with others to create and maintain a database of sustainable internship opportunities. Advises, teaches, encourages and supports students, faculty, staff, and alumni about career development, job searching, and graduate school planning. Provides career-related information to variety of audiences. Works with other CCC staff members in using CCC Works to manage, organize, and disseminate information about vocational opportunities and employment. Works with other CCC staff members to maximize the social media presence of the CCC. Cultivates and communicates an understanding of and appreciation for the liberal arts, the College curriculum, and the concept of vocation.
Skills and Qualities: Outstanding interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; confidence necessary to cultivate and maintain corporate and agency contacts and relationships; experience/comfort with inputting and retrieving database information; comfort/experience working with social media for professional purposes; understanding of and commitment to meeting the career-related developmental needs of undergraduate students; and ability to work collegially and effectively in both independent and collaborative manner with limited supervision.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required, with advanced degree advantageous. Familiarity and experience with career
development and placement processes necessary. Career-related assessment knowledge desirable. Desired experience of 3-5 years in guiding others in human resources, higher education, or related field. Must demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the liberal arts and the concept of vocation in multiple dimensions.
