Objectives
- The College will be well recognized for its distinctive character as a church-related, liberal arts college of high quality.
- Maryville College will create a comprehensive program that integrates the development of sound ethical judgment into explorations of faith and vocational identity.
- The College will establish and support vigorous programs for international study, research, work, and travel by Maryville College students, faculty and staff and for recruitment of international faculty and students.
- In any year, at least 60% of the teaching faculty will make presentations of their scholarly and creative work to the campus community, to colleagues on other campuses, or at professional meetings.
- The College, through its students, faculty, staff and alumni, will have a prominent presence in local, regional, and national media.
- Part-time faculty will be recruited with the same care as are full-time faculty, will receive thorough orientation, will be paid competitive salaries, and will provide no more than 15% of the total credit hours taught in any academic year.
- The percentage of the College budget devoted to Educational & General Expenses for instruction and library will exceed the mean percentage for our peer institutions that maintain active chapters of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
- The endowments dedicated to faculty development will exceed $1,400,000.
- The College will implement revenue optimization and resource stewardship plans.
- The endowment of the College will exceed $50,000,000.
