Associate Professor of Economics

Sharon May began teaching at Maryville College in Fall 2006.  Since then her economics teaching emphasis has been in the areas of microeconomics, environmental economics, and principles of economics.  In 2012, she piloted a new course in Quantitative Problem Solving in Business.  Dr. May is also active in the Maryville Core Curriculum regularly teaching the interdisciplinary social sciences course on the topic of "World Population, Food and the Environment" as well as courses is the First Year Seminar. 

In 2012, Dr. May was named the Director of Academic Advising in which role she coordinates the college's advising program.

Dr. May's research interests include the teaching of economics and development economics as well as best practices in academic advising.
