Ragsdale International Scholarship
Funding preference for Ragsdale Scholarships shall be given to extended study (semester or year-long) over short-term study or experiential trips. A Ragsdale Scholarship should also be used toward expenses beyond tuition, room, and board (such as transportation costs, for example) when tuition, room, and board are provided by “sister school” arrangements or other financial aid. A Ragsdale Scholarship may cover costs such as tuition when normal financial aid is not available; it may also cover some portion of the costs of students participating in January or summer study trips led by Maryville College faculty. Ragsdale awards do not exceed $2000 per student. Download Application

TRAAVEL Award (Travel and Reading in Asia and Africa, Ventures in Experiential Learning)
A TRAAVEL Award can cover up to 50 percent of the cost of a Maryville College experiential trip to places in Asia or Africa. Download Application

The Carter Fund
The Carter Fund is used for travel associated with Maryville College, and cannot cover more than 50 percent of the cost of the trip.

Applications for Gilman International Scholarship
The Institute of International Education has opened the application cycle for the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. Founded by the International Academic Opportunity Act of 2000 and sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, this program provides scholarships of up to $5,000 for eligible undergraduate students to pursue study abroad. The online application can be accessed at the Gilman Web site at www.iie.org/gilman.

2005-2006 NSEP Boren Scholarships for Study Abroad
The Institute of International Education is accepting applications for the 2005-06 National Security Education Program (NSEP) David L. Boren undergraduate scholarships for study abroad during summer 2005, fall 2005, and spring 2006. These scholarships provide funding for U.S. students to study abroad in Asia, Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, the NIS, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Middle East. Award amounts range from a maximum of $10,000 a semester to $20,000 for an academic year. For details and an application form, access: www.iie.org/nsep.

Freeman-Asia Awards
The Freeman-ASIA Award Program is designed to support American undergraduates with demonstrated financial need who are planning on studying overseas in East or Southeast Asia.
- Summer Program $3,000
- Semester/Quarter Program $5,000
- Academic Year Program $7,000

Bridging Scholarships for Study Abroad in Japan
The Association of Teachers of Japanese Bridging Project is accepting applications from American students participating in study-abroad programs in Japan beginning in Fall 2005.

The American Women's Club in Stockholm, Sweden Scholarship
The scholarship which is based on academic excellence, is awarded in the form of a travel grant for $1,500. The grant was initiated to cover the cost of a round-trip airplane ticket between the US and Sweden. In order to qualify for the AWC Scholarship, the applicant must be currently living in the USA, 18 years or older, an American female citizen and accepted for a period of study or research at a Swedish educational institute. Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships
"The purpose of the Ambassadorial Scholarships program is to further international understanding and frinedly relations among people of different countries." There are three types of scholarships:
- Academic-Year Ambassadorial Scholarships
- Multi-Year Ambassadorial Scholarships
- Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarships

Marshall Scholarships
Marshall Scholarships are open only to United States citizens who (at the time they take up their Scholarship) hold a first degree from an accredited four-year college or university in the United States with a minimum GPA of 3.7. Marshall Scholarships cover the full cost of education in the United Kingdom for up to 2 years.
