Why I love MC
Maryville College is home to me! I love everything about this place! As a student, I was challenged in the classroom and had professors who wanted me to be successful. I am very grateful for the research project that I did as a senior at MC – it put me far ahead of my classmates in graduate school. Outside of the classroom, I had many opportunities to get involved on campus and in the community. I loved being able to live on campus all four years. My best friends were always just a few doors away and we had a great time sharing the special experience of being an MC student. My positive experience as an MC student led me to pursue a career in higher education. Now that I work at MC, I love being able to spend my days on this beautiful campus. I’m living the dream! The people of the MC community genuinely care about you and that makes all the difference. Maryville College has helped me to grow as a person – personally, academically, professionally, spiritually – in every way!
Bio
I was born and raised in Naples, FL, and came to Maryville College in 2001 to continue my education and play volleyball. I majored in psychology and minored in sociology and Spanish and was part of the Student Programming Board and the Psi Chi/Psychology Club. Our volleyball team enjoyed a lot of success and we were able to go to the NCAA National Tournament four years in a row. Although I will always be a Florida girl at heart, I love living in Tennessee, so after graduation I decided to stay! I worked as a Youth Director in west Knoxville and then went to graduate school at UT-Knoxville for a master’s degree in College Student Personnel. I recently married another MC alumnus, Bryan, and we have two dogs, Honey and Buckeye, and a cat, Phoebe.
