Why I love MC
I was born in Gainsville, FL and have moved over 12 times in my life but when I first came to Maryville's campus I knew I was going to love it! During my tour of campus, the tour guide smiled and said hello to her friends and I could tell that she knew people on campus. Even though I lived so many places before, I felt like Maryville College was my home. During the application process my admissions advisor answered any of my questions and always got back to me quickly. I fell in love with Maryville before I even arrived on campus as a student!
Then my life as a student happened. I love the relationships I developed with my professors over the four years as a student and I love that even though I am not a student anymore I can still call my professors at any time and they will still help me with anything I need. The last two years of college I was a commuter but I always felt very included in the happenings around campus.
One of my favorite parts of being a student was being a part of the choir. I felt that the relationships that I made with the people in choir were the relationships that would last a lifetime! I love traveling with the concert choir and spreading the word of Maryville. As the Fine Arts recruiter for Maryville College, I hope to help future fine arts students become a part of the MC family.
Bio
I am the oldest of three kids. I have a younger brother, Elliot, and a younger sister, Diana. As a child, my family moved around so I don't necessarily have a "home-town". My family lives in Tullahoma, TN and my dad opened up his own medical practice six years ago. My mom works as the Practice Administrator at the practice and on the side they live on a farm! We have four cows, two cats, four dogs, chickens, and over 30 goats!
I have lived in Maryville for five years now. I graduated with my Bachelor of Music in Music Theory and Composition in May 2009. I came to Maryville to get my undergraduate degree before I went on to law school but once I started my major in music I realized that I should continue to pursue my passion of Music. Now that I've graduated, I am also teaching piano and voice to students in Maryville and Knoxville. This year, I will be recruiting fine arts students to Maryville College, while also pursuing my Masters in Choral Conducting.
