Why I love MC
I love coming to work! How many people can truly say they enjoy what they do everyday? Not only do I have the pleasure of working with the best and the brightest local students, but I also am a part of something very meaningful in their lives. Helping students make one of the biggest decisions of their lives and walking them through the process is quite rewarding. I also have the responsibility of coordinating annual events that Admissions hosts for our prospective students and their parents. Additionally, my role on campus as a member of the Wellness Task Force has allowed me to incorporate my love for fitness into my work at Maryville College. It doesn't get any better than this!
Bio
I was born in Chattanooga and relocated to Knoxville with my mom when I was 9 years old. I have attended Pleasant Ridge Elementary, Northwest Middle, Cedar Bluff Middle, Farragut High, and finally, Bearden High School where I graduated in 1988. I worked for Whittle Communications while acquiring my bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Tennessee. My first "real" job after graduation was with Court South Conditioning Clubs. I worked there as Area Program and Public Relations Director for 10 years. When the opportunity presented itself for me to become part of the Maryville College staff, I knew I had found my calling. I began my career here as the Director of Annual Giving for MC's Development office and have now settled into the role of Knox County Counselor and Event Coordinator for Admissions. I am married and have a 9 year old daughter who hung the moon.
