Summer Financial Aid

Tennessee students enrolling in summer classes may now be eligible to use their HOPE Scholarship to help offset the costs. Students who first received the HOPE in fall 2009 or later may be eligible for up to $2,000 for summer classes.  Students who first received the HOPE in fall 2015 or later may be eligible for up to $1750 as a first-year or sophomore and $2250 as a junior or senior.  The amount is prorated based on the number of credit hours taken. Students must enroll in a minimum of six credit hours to be eligible to the use the HOPE Scholarship for summer classes.

**Caution TN HOPE recipients**

Summer classes could potentially reduce the number of fall and spring semesters that you will be eligible to receive the HOPE Scholarship. Your HOPE Scholarship is available only through the semester in which you will attempt 120 credit hours, the number of credit hours required to receive your degree from Maryville College, or 8 full time equivalent semesters whichever occurs last.

Students may also use any remaining eligibility for Subsidized and/or Unsubsidized Stafford Direct Loans. Parents may also request a Parent PLUS Loan for summer classes. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours to be eligible for loans.

If you are planning to attend summer school, here are the steps you need to take to apply for summer aid:
