One of the most popular events annually at Homecoming is the gathering of alumni who were choir members and the current MC Concert Choir. This year will not disappoint - they are back again, and want you to participate! If you are an alum and participated in any choir during your time at Maryville College, you are welcome to join this fantastic group.
To join the group on stage this year, please complete this simple RSVP form prior to Sept. 30, 2015. We need all participants (new or returning) to complete this form to save your spot and help us plan for logistics of the event!
This year we are blessed to have two guest directors, as well as current Director of Choral Activities Stacey Wilner, who has built a wonderful program at Maryville College over the past 15 years, and whose 60+ voice Concert Choir will be singing with the Homecoming Choir.
- The career of guest director Harold Laster ’65 has included deanships at University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Aspen Music Festival and School, and Music Academy of the West. He served as co-executive director of THE CHORAL PROJECT in Silicon Valley, where he arranged co-concerts and tours with Canadian Brass and the King’s Singers.
- Dwight Dockery '05 has busy hands these days, as conductor of the Greenville (NC) Choral Society, Director of the Wesleyan Singers at NC Wesleyan College, Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church in Smithfield, and academic advisor for the East Carolina University School of Music. He is also an active composer and arranger/orchestrator.
