Alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago are invited for a buffet breakfast and fellowship with other Golden Scots.

Get some early Holiday shopping done by selecting crafts from a wide array of talented artists.  Sponsored by the Blount County Alumni Chapter, the fair supports scholarships for current Blount County students attending Maryville College.

“Now and Then” Walking Tour of Campus

Revisit your favorite spots around campus!  View remodeled buildings, new additions and the Clayton Center for the Arts.  Tour is open to everyone at no charge.

Service of Remembrance

9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. • Wilson Center for Campus Ministry
Alumni who have passed away since Homecoming 2011 will be remembered in a service led by the Rev. Anne D. McKee, campus minister.

Anderson Hall Alumni Open House

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. • Anderson Hall

Drop in to see plans for the interior renovation of Anderson Hall.  Event is hosted by the MC Alumni Association Board.

Open Houses

A variety of organizations and departments will host "Open Houses" throughout campus.  Homecoming participants are invited to visit several open houses during this two-hour block.

Dr. Terry Bunde Retirement Reception

10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. • Sutton Science Room 223

Come join the recently retired Dr. Terry Bunde for a formal dedication of the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer, funded by generous donors in honor of his retirement after 35 years of teaching at Maryville College.

Music Medley

10:00 a.m. – Noon • Clayton Center for the Arts, Outdoor Plaza (rain location: Massey Family Rehearsal Room)

11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. -The variety of talents from the Alumni Off-Kilter, Alumni Choir, and the MC Concert Choir will perform!

Mountain Challenge Tower Climb

10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. • Crawford House

Come by and celebrate Mountain Challenge’s 25th year! Children (ages 10 and under) must be accompanied by an adult.

"Little Scotties" Children's Area

10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. • Anderson Lawn (rain location: Cooper Athleic Center - right side of the gym)

Inflatables to climb up, slide down, bounce in, and play, highland games, face and hair painting, and the clowning around of balloon animals are all hits with the “Little Scotties!”  Little Scotties are invited to participate in the parade. Children must be accompanied by an adult. 

Alumni Choir Reunion

Catch up with former choir members and rehearse for a short performance during the Music Medley on the Clayton Center plaza.  Louise Wyman ‘57 will be the guest director of the Alumni Choir. 

Church Professionals Gathering

10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. • Wilson Center for Campus Ministry
Alumni who serve as clergy, youth directors, church musicians, or are seminary students are invited for light refreshments and an informal gathering to meet and connect across class years, denominations and callings.

Women Scots Soccer vs. NC Wesleyan

11:00 a.m. • Soccer Field

Bring your orange and garnet shaker and support the women’s soccer team.

Lunch on the Grounds

11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. • Pearsons Lawn • $10 per person (children 5 & under free)
Everyone is invited for a picnic lunch! Special seating will be available for all reunion classes whose graduation year ends in ‘2’ or ‘7.’

Student & Alumni Parade

1:00 p.m. • Campus Roads (Reunion Classes, please line up in front of Anderson by 12:45 p.m. to begin the parade route!)

Gather along Circle Road to watch the procession of bagpipers, reunion classes, current students, President Bogart & family, cheerleaders, dance team, Homecoming Court candidates, Little Scotties & pets!

Gather to see the Captains Brick, inscribed with the names of the 2010 Football Team Captains, Wesley Idlette ‘11, Brad Eich ‘11, and Alex Anderson ‘11, placed in the Donald W. Story Captains Walk.

March of the Scots

Join the fans at Honaker Field for this homecoming tradition! The 2012 Homecoming King & Queen will be crowned during halftime festivities.

Alumni Reception & Awards Ceremony

5:30 p.m. • Alumni Gym • $25/person

Celebrate with fellow alumni as we honor the Alumni Citations and the Kin Takahashi Young Alumni Award recipients.  The reception will also highlight the 25th, 40th, 50th, 55th, & 60th reunions. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served. Off-Kilter alumni will also reunite for a medley of songs!
