Dear Maryville College Alumni & Friends,
Kin Takahashi (K.T.) Week, the College’s annual week of volunteerism, is scheduled for June 10-14, 2013. For 17 years, devoted MC alumni, students, friends, staff and faculty have shared their time and talents to benefit the College. You will notice the handprints of K.T. volunteers all around campus as projects have included landscaping, painting, carpentry, inventory and archives.
K.T. Week is volunteer friendly! You have the option of volunteering for as little as a few hours or for as long as the entire week. No special skills are needed, just the desire to have a great time while working together to enrich our beloved alma mater. Check out photos from K.T. Week 2012.
K.T. Week is also a good reason to have great time! Lodging and meals are provided, including a Monday morning kick-off breakfast in Proffitt Dining Room (P.D.R.), a Wednesday night cook-out at the McArthur Pavilion followed by the Kaufman Flatpick Camp Concert (discounted ticket) in the Alumni Gym and a Friday night wrap-up celebration in P.D.R. This year, the MC Blount County Alumni Association is hosting the first annual Scotsman 5-K run on Saturday, June 15th to raise funds for scholarships awarded to MC students from Blount County. Whether you want be a participant or a spectator, K.T. volunteers are invited to be part of the fun.
Remember to register by 5/24/13 to receive a collectible K.T. Week t-shirt designed by a current MC student. Also, please complete your medical release form. For those who will be staying on campus, download our guest information packet.
I look forward to seeing you at KT Week.
Blessings to you and yours,

Loyal Alumni and Friends of the College,
On behalf of the Maryville College Community, allow me to extend heartfelt thanks for the work volunteers accomplished during Kin Takahashi (KT) Week. Over the course of five days, 126 volunteers worked a total of 2,792 hours and completed 50 projects, which calculates to over $100,000 in added value to the College!
Volunteers from across the U.S. include alumni & their spouses (and even a couple of grandchildren), current and prospective students, parents of current students and alumni, friends, members of the Board of Directors, the National Alumni Board and the Blount County Alumni Association, staff and faculty. The range of projects completed includes constructing two storage sheds for football, rebuilding the Crawford House porch, various paint and repair projects, pressure washing buildings and sidewalks, tree planting, making a new trail in the Woods between the College orchards and work in the archives.
While the list of projects and the added value to campus is very extraordinary, KT Week is also a time of fellowship, camaraderie and fun! Housed in Lloyd Hall, KT’ers enjoyed nightly get-togethers, a mid-week cookout at the McArthur Pavilion, an evening of music at the annual Kaufman Acoustic Camp, and a lively wrap-up dinner on Friday night.
THANK YOU to KT’ers who continue to be an inspiration to those of us who are blessed to work here every day. We cannot properly express our appreciation for everything you do to support KT Week and Maryville College throughout the year.
Remember to mark your calendars for KT Week 2013, scheduled for June 10-14.
Sincerely yours,

William T. Bogart
President
