Kin Takahashi Week

Dear Fellow KT Participant,

The thirteenth annual Kin Takahashi Week is scheduled for June 15-19, 2009. It is a credit to the service that past participants have provided to Maryville College during KT Week that this program will continue during a year of a down economy and budget tightening. The contribution of “K.T.’ers” is truly one of the “value added” activities that the College has decided to continue to support.

For those who have not yet participated in K.T. Week, allow me to give you a quick overview. K.T. Week is open to all MC alumni, spouses, and friends. We begin the week with a Monday morning kick-off breakfast, observe the half-way mark with a Wednesday evening cookout at the McArthur Pavilion, and we end the week with a celebratory Friday night wrap up dinner. For participants not local and in need of lodging, the College provides housing and three daily meals. This year we have the luxury of staying in the newest residence hall, Gibson Hall! For local participants, the College provides lunch and the special meals mentioned above. In addition, all participants will receive a K.T. t-shirt designed by one of MC’s graphic arts students. But the best part of KT Week is the camaraderie you will experience working and socializing with fellow MC alums, spouses, and friends.

Over the past 12 years, the work of KT’ers has made vast improvements to the “curb appeal” of the campus while significantly saving the College direct maintenance expenses. Projects include minor repairs, horticulture, landscaping maintenance, painting, and archive research. Last year, 124 participants completed 25 projects which compute to 3484 work hours. Whether you come for a day, a few days, or the entire week, we need your participation. So I invite you to come and enjoy the satisfaction gained from working along side “old” and new friends in support of Maryville College.

As always, thank you for your continued support of Maryville College.

With Appreciation,

Dan Greaser
