Alumni and Parent Ambassadors

The Ambassadors program allows alumni and parents to speak with prospective students and their parents in an effort to promote Maryville College and recruit promising students. Volunteers are assigned prospective students or parents that they contact via phone. The Ambassadors help answer any questions the students or parents may have. As current or past customers of the College, the Ambassadors have a lot to offer. If you are interested in being an Ambassador or finding out more about the program, please contact Wendy Wheeler, Admission Counselor at (865) 981-8089.

Kin Takahashi Week

In the spirit of College legend Kin Takahashi, each summer Maryville College sponsors a week known as Kin Takahashi Week. During this time alumni, parents and friends from all over the country come back to Maryville College to volunteer their time and efforts on campus improvement projects. These projects may include planting flowers, painting buildings, and trimming trees. Of Kin Takahashi week, volunteer Sylvia Fugate Heard ’61 said, "It is about giving of one's time and talents to preserve our rich heritage as shown by Kin Takahashi." The week allows for people to get involved with Maryville College while sharing in fellowship with other people that have a common love for the College. For more information please contact Diana Canacaris, Planned Giving Coordinator, at (865) 981-8198.

Outreach Events

Maryville College is always looking for assistance when planning outreach events. Having the help of volunteers to scout out facilities, help make arrangements, and get out the word about an upcoming event is really important. If you would be willing to help plan and coordinate an outreach event in your area, please contact Helen Bruner, Director of Alumni & Parent Relations at (865) 981-8202.
