Calvin Cup Challenge

The Calvin Cup Challenge, a suggestion made by young alumni, is a fun way to get everyone to recognize that making a gift each year is just as important as the amount of the gift.

Why is alumni giving percentage so important?

First, the percentage of alumni who make a gift to the College is an important measure used by national publications to help determine rankings. Second, it helps secure additional support for the College. Foundations are keenly aware of alumni giving percentages and make funding decisions based on an institution’s demonstrated broad-based support.

How Does Your Class Rank in the Race for the Calvin Cup?

In the chart above, you can track the percentage of young alumni in your class that have made a gift to the College during this fiscal year (ends May 31, 2008). At the end of the fiscal year, we will close the books and calculate the percentage of givers from each young alum class.

The winning class - the one with the highest percentage of donors, regardless of gift amount - will be presented with The Calvin Cup in a ceremony at the Young Alumni Tailgate during the 2008 MC Homecoming, Saturday, October 18.
