Blaine Reese commits to Great South Champs

Maryville College Sports Information
Blaine Reese has committed to continue his education and baseball career at Maryville College in Maryville, Tenn.

The son of Bobby and Melanie Reese from Huber Heights, OH, Blaine was a starting infielder for Sinclair Community College in the spring of 2009. Blaine finished his sophomore season with a batting average of .280, with one homerun, and nine RBIs. Also, he committed only five errors and helped lead Sinclair to a final record of 36-12.

The head coach of the Scots, Daniel Washburn, had this to say about Blaine’s decision to continue his career at Maryville College: “Blaine is a big addition for our ballclub because he is a very versatile defender. He has the ability to play both middle infield positions, and he is a fundamentally sound fielder. After spending the past two years playing for a quality junior college program, our coaching staff expects Blaine to make an impact here at Maryville College. Also, we expect him to be a productive hitter, and his athleticism should translate well into this level. Blaine is another tremendous addition to an already stellar recruiting class.”

Blaine will be joining a Maryville team that finished the 2009 campaign with a record of 22-18. The Scots captured their second Great South Conference Championship in three seasons.
