Tyson Murphy looks to bring his passion for running to the MC Cross Country squad. 2011 was Tyson's sixth year at the helm of the harrier programs. Murphy has directed the men's and women's programs since the fall of 2006, earning four GSAC Coach of the Year accolades and four conference titles. As a runner for Maryville College, Tyson was named the 2002 GSAC Freshman and Runner of the Year for the league.

Murphy also serves as a Program Manager for Mountain Challenge LLC, a private company that facilitates outdoor programming for Maryville College students and classes while also providing local and national companies with outdoor based training and consulting.
