Kandis Schram began her tenure as Athletics Director in the fall of 2008.
Kandis just concluded her 26th season as the Scots Head Volleyball Coach in 2011. Coach Schram has an impressive winning percentage of over 65%. She has collected 622 victories over her career. Her career record is 622-329 (.654). She has led the volleyball program to eight NCAA National Tournament appearances, two WIAC Conference Championships, eight Great South Athletic Conference regular season titles, and nine GSAC Conference Tournament crowns. An alumnus of Maryville College in 1985, she has received many accolades as a coach and a player. Over the past 26 years, she has been honored many times by her peers; receiving the South Region Tachikara Coach of the Year in 1989, and the Great South Conference Coach of the Year on eight occasions in 2000, 2001,2002,2003,2004,2006,2008 and 2009. She was inducted into the Maryville College Wall of Fame in October of 2006. She has served on many NCAA committees.
Coach Schram is presently ranked 8th nationally in active NCAA Division III volleyball coaches in career victories and is the 15th winningest coach all-time within the NCAA Division III.
Coach Schram is a committed coach, as well as a leader in the community. Keeping memberships in the Kiwanis Club of Alcoa, New Providence Church, Blount Memorial Auxiliary, and many other service organizations keeps her quite busy.
