Maryville College Basketball has a rich tradition of success.
The Darrin Travillian era began in 2010-11 and Maryville College Basketball continues to elevate its program toward national prominence in 2011-2012 where the Great South Athletic Conference Coach of the Year will lead their regionally ranked squad into his second season at the helm.
SINCE 2000....
Over the last eleven years, the Maryville women of the hardwood have maintained a level of excellence. Here are a few of their accomplishments in the decade of 2000:
8 NCAA tournament appearances
10 Great South Athletic Conference regular season titles
7 GSAC Tournament championships
.744 winning percentage
229 victories and 79 losses
This past season (2010-2011) the Scots finished the year 21-5, including a 14-0 record in the Great South Athletic Conference. They claimed their 10th GSAC regular season title with a perfect regular season mark.
Historically, Scots basketball was one of the strongest programs nationally during the 1990’s. During the ten year span Maryville posted a record of 180-58 for an amazing .756 winning percentage. The Scots made six NCAA Tournament appearances and four Sweet 16 appearances in that era.
The MC Basketball program plays all of its home games in the Boydson Baird Gymnasium. The playing surface is one of three basketball floors housed in the Cooper Athletic Center. The Cooper Crazies enjoy watching the up-tempo offense and the aggressive defense that has become a trademark of their team.
