Selecting Classes

Beginning in early June, you will be able to choose courses and build a schedule through Self-Service, our online student information system.  You will receive further instructions about registration as well as your English and Math placements prior to that date.  Please visit the registration website at: http://www.maryvillecollege.edu/academics/registrar/registration/  to begin exploring your anticipated major and corresponding course options.  It will not be a problem if you are unsure about your intended major.  You will find a suggested schedule for “undecided” among the majors.  At Great Beginnings, you will have the opportunity to meet with a faculty advisor who will answer your questions and help you refine your course selections.

Transfer Advising

Important: Official, final transcripts from all colleges previously attended must be received before you can be advised. If you are taking summer classes, the courses should be listed on the appropriate transcript as in progress. Transfer students will work with an advisor to select classes. You will receive more information about advising from the Registrar’s office once we have your transcripts on file.

Transfer Orientation and Move in Day

Orientation 120 is a required one-credit course at Maryville which has two course objectives: 1) to acquaint you with your new college and how things work here and 2) to provide you with connections to a group of other transfer students as well as a Peer Mentor and Instructor to ease your way. It acknowledges that transfer students have all gone through orientation at other institutions, so it focuses on differences at MC. It is also front loaded and over in early September.

Move in Day for transfers who are living on campus is set for Sunday, August 28th

Transfer Orientation begins on Monday, August 29th
