Cable Television Overview
Digital cable television service is available on the Maryville College campus in most residential areas. The service currently includes over 90 digital and high definition channels. The current Maryville College cable television channel lineup is available here.
Television Compatibility
The Maryville College digital cable broadcast requires that televisions include a QAM tuner in order to receive service. Most new televisions include a QAM tuner, but older, budget and off-brand models often do not. This information is often located in the user guide that came with the television or online. Note that ATSC and NTSC digital tuners are not compatible.
If you are unsure whether or not your television includes a QAM tuner, or if you experience any issues with your television or cable service, use the IT Support Request Form to submit your television model number, typically located on a label on the back, along with a description of the issue and the Maryville College IT Department will be happy to assist.
External QAM tuner set top boxes are available and may provide compatibility for televisions that do not include the required internal QAM tuner. The Maryville College IT Department cannot verify compatibility and does not endorse any specific product, but students interested in this option should also use the IT Support Request Form for additional assistance.
