I named this site "The Hornets' Nest" to reflect its original intent, which was to get students to produce creative writing about the environment. I thought that a hornet's nest worked well as a metaphor: it's a meticulously constructed work of art; it's characterized by activity and industry; and sometimes it can be dangerous. Select the links to the left to learn more about a particular genre of creative writing. Select "How to Post Your Work for Critiques" to learn how to get feedback and to comment upon others' work. Or select this link (http://elearn.maryvillecollege.edu) and go straight to the Maryville College Blackboard site to log in to the course, "Creativewriting About the Environment"--now in the "Community" section of Blackboard--where you can post your writing and critique others' pieces. |
Submit your work to the online workshop on Blackboard. Select "Community" and search under creativewriting (one word). Post your work and wait for student feedback online. Revise and post again.I'll only select works that have been revised at least once.
