MC students help elementary schools prepare for “Read Across America Day”

The National Education Association (NEA) began a “Read Across America Day” on March 2, 1998, to encourage reading in schools across the country.

Some MC students will help elementary students “get in the spirit” a little early by reading library books to them in their classrooms.

WHO: Maryville College students (including members of the football team), elementary students.

WHAT: Classroom readings.

WHEN: Friday, Feb. 28, from 8 until 8:30 a.m.

WHERE: Foothills Elementary School in Maryville, Tenn.
