Contact: Kathleen Farnham, Director of Church Relations
Every summer, Maryville College students have the opportunity to meet members of local churches and faith communities and learn about their worship services while enjoying food and friendship before classes begin.
The 11th Annual Church and College Picnic will be held on Sun., Aug. 26 at 5 p.m. on the College’s Pearsons Lawn.
Set-up begins at 4:30 p.m., and churches are asked to bring one to four church members and provide displays, information about their church and side dishes for 40 people (any combination of salads, vegetables and desserts). The College will provide the main course and drinks.
“The Church and College Picnic is a wonderful opportunity for local churches and Maryville College to join together to welcome new and returning students to the campus, share information about the many opportunities for students to find a church home while at college and have an ecumenical evening of fun and fellowship,” said Kathleen Farnham, director of church relations at the College.
Reservations are required by Aug. 21. If you have questions or are interested in participating, please contact Kathleen Farnham at or 865.981.8217 or firstname.lastname@example.org; or Marde Soutullo at 865.981.8200 or email@example.com.
