Randall Cobb, a standout receiver for the Greenbay Packers and hometown native of Alcoa, Tenn., stopped by the Maryville College campus on Fri., June 28 to shoot a commercial for ESPN and his sponsor Under Armour.
Cobb earned TSSAA Mr. Football accolades while helping his Alcoa Tornadoes to four Class AA State Championships. He excelled at the University of Kentucky before being a second round draft selection by the Packers in the 2011 NFL Draft. He presently holds the NFL record for the longest touchdown return of 108 yards in 2011.
Cobb and San Diego Padres third baseman Chase Headley, who played at the University of Tennessee, will share the Chad Pennington Professional Athlete of the Year award given by the Greater Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame on July 11 at the Knoxville Convention Center.
Using the Maryville College woods and various locations throughout the local area, the film crew is telling Cobb's story of growing up in Blount County. Cobb is also in the area for his Inspire 18 Football Camp on June 29 at the Everett Recreation Center in Maryville.
