MACCO concludes season with May 6 concert

The Maryville-Alcoa College-Community Orchestra (MACCO) will conclude its 2001-2002 season with a spring concert, scheduled for May 6 in Wilson Chapel. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Admission for the concert is $10 for adults and $7 for seniors. Children ages 18 and younger are admitted free.

The concert will open with Handel's "Music for the Royal Fireworks Overture" and Schubert's "Overture to Rosamunde."

Maryville College senior music education major Sarah Stutzman, a mezzo-soprano, will solo in the orchestra's performance of Brahm's "Alto Rhapsody, Opus 53." Maryville College faculty member Burt Rosevear and MC students Tiffany Sasser, Katie Wagner, Laura Atkinson, Jenny Olander, Rennie Salata, Jesse Neace and Jeff Jopling will provide voices for the chorus.

The concert will conclude with Copland's "An Outdoor Overture."
