Kenny Receives Collegiate Conference and Events Professional Certification

Belinda N. Kenny, Maryville College’s assistant director for camps and conferences, has earned the Collegiate Conference and Events Professional certification by the Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors-International (ACCED-I). Kenny was recognized at the Association’s Annual Conference in Orlando, Fla., on April 14, 2003.

The Collegiate Conference and Events Professional certification program (CCEP) was established by ACCED-I in 1991. Candidates are required to present evidence of substantial professional experience, volunteer service to the profession, and complete a lengthy research-based examination.

Kenny has been in the conference and events profession for over nine years and in her current position for five years as well. She has been a member of ACCED-I since 1997. Upon receiving the CCEP designation, Kenny said, “ I accepted the challenge to complete my professional certification process because I believed that it would directly impact my ability to do my job on a daily basis. I am proud to receive this recognition from my peers and am ready to aspire to new challenges.”

The Association of Collegiate Conference an Events Directors-International was founded in 1980 and currently has a membership of over 1,400 professionals at educational institutions in the US, Canada, and the Untied Kingdom. ACCED-I is the largest independent educational association dedicated to professional growth and development in the conference and events profession.
