Maryville College will launch an alumni study in the coming weeks focused on readership of alumni publications and the forms of information alumni prefer to receive about the College.
The research will take a two-phase approach – first, with open-ended questions in an online bulletin-board style questionnaire, and secondly, with a quantitative survey online and by phone to measure expectations and perceptions of MC publications.
Members of both the full alumni base and the current MC senior class will be selected at random to participate.
“We hope all students and alumni who are contacted to participate will lend us their feedback,” said Holly Jackson-Sullivan, vice president of advancement and community relations for the College. “The College continuously strives to improve the way we communicate and build relationships with alumni, and learning directly from them how we can improve will provide valuable input as we plan our future publications.”
Mary Beth West Consulting, LLC, and collaborator Bryant Research have been hired to develop the survey instrument, randomly sample the alumni base, analyze the data and develop communications recommendations.
After the survey is completed, the College will report back to the larger alumni base the key results of the study, as well as resulting actions that the College is considering, in light of the feedback.
Students or alumni who have questions about the study may contact Karen Eldridge, director of communications, at 865.981.8207 or email@example.com.
