"The Voice" finalist Tony Lucca to perform at MC Jan. 29

Tony Lucca, a finalist on the second season of the hit NBC voice competition “The Voice,” will perform at 8 p.m. Tues., Jan. 29 in the Clayton Center for the Arts’ Ronald and Lynda Nutt Theatre.
The event is sponsored by Maryville College’s Student Government Association and Student Programming Board as a “kickoff” to the spring semester, which begins Jan. 30.
The doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased through the Clayton Center Box Office or by calling 865.981.8590. Tickets are free for Maryville College students.
Lucca was a fan favorite this year as the “Team Adam” finalist on “The Voice.” His cover of Hugo’s version of Jay-Z’s “99 Problems” held the No. 3 spot on iTunes’ overall singles sales chart and the No. 1 spot on the iTunes rock singles chart. His duet of The Beatles’ “Yesterday” with 'Voice' coach Adam Levine of Maroon 5 was in the top five on iTunes’ overall and pop singles sales charts.
Lucca, a singer-songwriter, has shared stages with Macy Gray, *NSYNC, Johnny Lang, Marc Anthony, Sara Bareilles, Tyrone Wells and the late Chris Whitley. His songs have been featured on several television shows, including “Friday Night Lights,” “Brothers & Sisters,” “Felicity,” “Shark” and in Kevin Costner’s feature “Open Range.” He appeared as himself on NBC’s “Parenthood” in 2011, performing his song “Like Love.” He has completed several cooperative tours with Jay Nash and Matt Duke, also known as TFDI, and has performed numerous times on NBC’s “Last Call with Carson Daly.”
