Voice major Shelley Maddox presents junior recital

Maryville College voice major Shelley Maddox will present a recital at 3 p.m., April 4, in the Music Hall of the Fine Arts Center on the College campus.

Maddox, a junior from Gatlinburg and a graduate of Gatlinburg-Pittman High School, is a member of the Maryville College Concert Choir, Off Kilter and the Gatlinburg Community Chorale. She has been studying voice for four years, the last year with voice instructor Alicia Massie-Legg.

Singing in Italian, French, German and English, Maddox will perform four baroque selections including “Se tu ma mi, se sospiri” by Givanni Pergolesi and “Che fiero costume” by Giovanni Legrenzi. She will perform three romantic selections and conclude with 20 th-century selections “Sure on This Shining Night” by Samuel Barber and “When I have Sung My Songs” by Ernest Charles. Jerry Sullivan II will serve as accompanist.

The recital is free and open to the public.
