Dr. Dave Unger, wildlife biologist and MC assistant professor of biology, will give a presentation Saturday at the 11th annual Mountain Wildlife Days in Sapphire, NC. His talk is titled “Little Red Riding Hood and the Big ‘Good’ Wolf.” "Carnivores have long been demonized and vilified in the movies, politics, popular culture, the media, and our childhood stories," Unger said. "What I hope to accomplish in this talk is to discuss some things most folks haven’t been told about the realities of the dangers carnivores represent, the war that has been waged against them, and perhaps most importantly, the important roles these organisms play in our ecosystems.”
