Graduation 2008 Information
Services and Ceremonies
Graduation exercises for the Class of 2008 will be held at 6 p.m., May 18, on the lawn between Anderson Hall and Sutton Science Center. In case of inclement weather, Commencement will be moved to Boydson Baird Gymnasium in the Cooper Athletic Center. The decision to move inside will be announced at Baccalaureate. If the ceremony is moved into the gymnasium, seating in the main gym will be by ticket only. Seniors will be given a specified time to pick up tickets during graduation rehearsal. Seniors will be allotted 5 tickets each. All other guests may view the ceremony on big screen simulcast in the adjoining gymnasiums.
Baccalaureate services are planned for 2 p.m., May 18, in Boydson Baird Gymnasium.

Rites and Practices
The Class of 2008 will hold graduation rehearsal in the Alumni Gym at (time TBA). Seniors who are marching are encouraged to bring a pen or pencil. Instructions for receiving tickets (for indoor use only) will be announced at that time.
The annual Senior Rite of Passage is scheduled for 1-3 PM, May 15, in the Bartlett Hall Atrium. It is very important for seniors graduating in May or summer 2008 to participate. Sponsored by the offices of Student Development and Alumni and Parents Programs, Senior Rite of Passage is a time when graduates can complete withdrawal requirements, receive their senior gift from the Alumni Association, and enjoy fellowship and refreshments. Celebrations
Graduating seniors, the College’s faculty and staff members, and members of the College’s Alumni Board are invited to the annual Senior Barbecue, scheduled for 12 p.m., May 16, in the McArthur Pavilion. Sponsored by the College’s Alumni Association, the barbecue means great food, refreshing beverages and memorable times with friends. Invitations will be sent, and reservations will be taken. The 12th annual Graduation Celebration for graduating seniors and their parents will be held at 8 PM, May 17, on the campus lawn. Sponsored by Student Development and the Parents Association, the event is held to honor the Class of 2008 and their parents. Dress is dressy-casual. Invitations will be sent, and reservations can be made by calling Sheree O’Connor at 865.981.8213 or by email to sheree.oconnor@maryvillecollege.edu.
Photos and Mementos
nSinc Photographics will be taking photos of graduating seniors
at Commencement. Photos available for purchase include shots of individual
graduates receiving their diplomas from the president and a photo of the
entire Class of 2008. Pre-ordering is not necessary. Proofs of the photos
can be viewed online at www.nsincphoto.com
