Maryville College is fortunate to have the Mountain Challenge outdoor program as part of its campus. Mountain Challenge places students in the wilderness, with area mountains, lakes, rivers and woods providing the setting. The program is an opportunity to explore yourself as you explore the wilderness. Whatever the situation, Mountain Challenge offers opportunities to face challenges head on, to struggle through difficult or unfamiliar tasks and to experience the thrill of achievement. Many of the events require neither experience nor special equipment. The only requirements for these events are the willingness to try new experiences and a commitment to do your best. Students who participate in five different Mountain Challenge trips will receive one hour of academic credit.
