The Writing Center

    The Maryville College Writing Center provides support for student writing through individual consultation and analysis of the writing processes used to prepare a written assignment. The Writing Center helps students to improve their writing by practicing the skills necessary to become effective independent thinkers and writers. Peer writing consultants provide individual assistance on writing issues. The writing consultants are trained by Composition faculty to provide academic guidance and support according to standard expectations and guidelines for effective writing. The writing consultants effectively analyze each student’s writing, ask appropriate questions for clarification and offer opportunities for practice and improvement while providing encouragement and support.

    Hours of operation and location: The Writing Center is located in the Library and is open from 6:30-10:30 most evenings.
