Library Facilities

  • The library provides spacious, relaxed research and study areas in historic Thaw Hall. The library can accommodate 250 students in the main reading room and lower level book stacks.
  • Sixty computers in the reading room and in the lower level book stacks provide access to the campus network, e-mail, BlackBoard, and the Internet. The same computers provide access to software needed to complete course work. Thirty wireless laptop computers are also available for use in the library only.
  • The Instruction Room is a Smart Classroom seating up to 24 people. It can be reserved for practicing computer-based presentations, viewing videos or DVDs, and group study or group meetings when not in use for classes.
  • The Conference Room seats up to 18 people and is designed to accommodate meetings, seminar style classes, and Internet based teleconferencing. The conference room may be reserved for any of these purposes and for practicing computer-based presentations, viewing videos or DVDs, and group study as well.
  • The Senior Project Room showcases selected research projects of former Maryville College graduates. The room accommodates up to six people, and can be reserved for video and DVD viewing, seminar classes, and group study. A computer with Internet connection and projector can be arranged in this room on request.
  • The library provides three networked laser printers, two photocopy machines, and a microform reader/printer for student use.
