Career Fair, first year
Effective professional communication takes practice. A career fair is an opportunity to build these skills as you meet real-world professionals who are interested in providing opportunities for Maryville College students. You will greet real employers, learn how to dress professionally, cultivate listening skills, and learn about what materials to bring with you so as to optimize your experience.
When is this requirement usually completed?
The career fair is scheduled and required as part of First Year Seminar (FYS 110). Students can register to attend the Career Fair on Handshake.
Who approves this requirement?
Career Center staff will require students to register on MC's Handshake site. Failure to register may prevent students from fulfilling this requirement.
Where can I get more information?
The Career Center schedules these events. Please visit the college's Handshake site for a list of invitees or to schedule an appointment to discuss which kind of career fair is most appropriate to your vocational interests. Your FYS professor and the Career Center may also have more information on how to make the most of your career fair experience. Faculty should consult the Maryville College Works: Faculty Information page on the Tartan.
