Ashley Abbott Maynard ’12 joined Maryville College’s Division of Fine Arts as a choral assistant and fine arts recruiter in October, 2014.
In her role, she assists Ms. Stacey Wilner with managing the choir and planning choir events, such as festivals, choir tours and special events, including East Tennessee Vocal Association All-East Festival. She is a key recruiter for the Concert Choir. She also directs the Lassies ensemble and assists with the Lads ensemble and Off Kilter, the College’s select vocal ensemble.
Maynard, a 1999 Alcoa High School graduate who performed with the Alcoa High School Band, transferred to Maryville College in 2010 from Pellissippi State Community College, where she was a member of the school’s Variations Choral Ensemble. As a Maryville College student, Maynard joined the pep and jazz bands and the Maryville College Concert Choir, of which she was choir president. She was the first transfer student to earn a spot in Off Kilter, and she served as a Maryville College Choir Scholar at New Providence Presbyterian Church.
Now back on campus as an alumna and staff member, she describes the experience as being “home.” She said that being an alumna of the College’s music program gives her valuable insight for her new role.
If high schools, churches or any other groups would like Maynard to visit or speak with students, please contact her at 865.981.8153, 865.233-8707 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
