Description: A study of works by major British authors, ranging from the romantic period through the postmodern. By providing an overview of the development of British literary tradition, the course will enable students to situate works studied in advanced and period-specific courses within a broad context. Authors to be studied may include Blake, Austen, Wordsworth, the Brontes, Woolf, Yeats, Joyce, and Lessing.
