Admissions Counselor

BIO

I grew up in the gorgeous mountains of southwest Virginia and the excitement of Chattanooga. As a preacher’s kid, I was blessed to build connections with lots of different people, and I am thrilled I have the opportunity to join the Maryville College community and help find future students. I went to college at Birmingham-Southern College (Forward Ever!) and studied Religion and English. During college I loved taking advantage of intramurals and campus activities, writing for our school paper, and living the Greek life in Zeta Tau Alpha. Upon graduation I moved to Knoxville to be near family, and began working as the Director of Youth and Communications in a local church. I look forward to continue helping young people with big decisions as an Admissions Counselor. When I am not pounding the pavement for MC, I love to travel and serve on the board of Foothills Community Players here in Maryville!

Why I Love Maryville:

Maryville College has a rich history of inclusiveness and diversity that I find utterly admirable. I love that before some people would acknowledge people of different races, Maryville College was teaching those individuals and seeing the worth of every person and their experience. I have always believed that when we can all look at the bigger picture beyond our singular view we find the greater good. I think Maryville College embraces this ideal with the motto of its founder with doing “good on the largest possible scale.”

I loved my college experience and feel a very similar vibe here at Maryville. I made lasting friendships, had life changing experiences, was challenged in various ways, and received a quality education that prepared me for several career paths. I think Maryville College can provide that experience for our students and that is why I am thrilled to be on the staff.
