Our Mission

The ALANA Scholars program was created in 2010 to support African American, LatinX, Asian, and Native American students at Maryville College. Students, their mentors, and staff/faculty advisors all have BIPOC identities, intentionally. In addition to providing opportunities for students to develop their leadership skills and strengthen their voices around diversity, equity, and inclusion, ALANA also provides a safe space and supportive environment in which members can see positive reflections of themselves and their lived experiences, learn about each other’s cultures, become stronger allies for each other, and advocate for justice, diversity, inclusion, and equity on campus.

Financial Value

Up to $2,000 each year.  Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.0 GPA.
