Homecoming 2019 is Oct. 19-20
Maryville College alumni came “Home to Howee” to celebrate Homecoming 2018 during the weekend of Oct. 26-28. The weekend included something for everyone: the Harvest Crafts Festival and Bake Sale, athletic events, Homecoming parade, Decade Bash, children's activities, tailgates, reunions, Homecoming Choir performance and awards ceremonies.

The 2018 Founder's Day Banquet, a celebration for donors at the President's Circle and above, was held Oct. 25 in the Clayton Center for the Arts' William Baxter Lee III Grand Foyer. During the event, the Bicentennial celebration was officially launched.
Alumni from classes spanning several decades gathered for the Decade Bash, which included dinner and dancing in the Clayton Center for the Arts.
The 2018 Alumni Awards Ceremony was held Oct. 27 in the Clayton Center for the Arts’ Harold and Jean Lambert Recital Hall. The College’s Alumni Citation was presented to Betty Hammers Wiley ’53 and William Heird ’58. Frank Twum-Barimah ’04 received the Kin Takahashi Award for Young Alumni.

College officially kicks off Bicentennial celebration
Inside the William Baxter Lee III Grand Foyer of the Clayton Center for the Arts, College officials officially kicked off the College’s months-long Bicentennial celebration with dinner, recognition of donors, announcements of upcoming events, celebrations and special publications, a video presentation and a joint mayoral proclamation presented by Alcoa Mayor and alumnus Don Mull ’59 and Andy White, vice mayor of the city of Maryville.

The College’s Alumni Citation was presented to William Heird ’58 and Betty Hammers Wiley ’53, and Frank Twum-Barimah received the Kin Takahashi Award for Young Alumni. On Oct. 28, five former student-athletes were inducted into the Wall of Fame.
Mahan and Russell are Homecoming royalty
Cassidy Mahan, a senior from Knoxville, Tenn., and senior Charles M. “Boomer” Russell of Cumberland Gap, Tenn., are Maryville College’s 2018 Senior Homecoming Royalty honorees.
Alumni vets receive Quilts of Valor - During its first Military Alumni Reunion, the College and its Student Veterans Association helped five veterans receive "quilts of freedom" from the local Quilts of Valor chapter.
MC Football: Stellar defense leads Scots to shutout of Averett - The Scots followed a huge defensive effort for a 14-0 win over Averett University and now controls their own destiny within the USA South Athletic Conference race.
MC Cross Country (Men’s): Beckett earns All-Conference as the Scots take seventh in USA South championship - Maryville College placed seventh overall in the USA South Athletic Conference Championships on Friday, as junior Daniel Beckett earned All-Conference accolades with a top-10 finish.
MC Cross Country (Women’s): Mulligan leads MC in championship race, earns All-Conference accolades - Maryville College raced to an eighth-place finish on Friday morning in the USA South Athletic Conference Championships, as Lea Mulligan came away as an All-Conference performer.
MC Soccer (Men’s): Reichenberger’s golden goal lifts MC to a Western Division regular season title - Randy Reichenberger came through with his second Golden Goal victory of the season, as the Scots toppled William Peace University, 1-0, for their third-consecutive USA South title.
MC Soccer (Women’s): Scots advance to USA South semifinals with 5-1 win over Meredith - Maryville College advanced to the semifinals of the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday afternoon, as the Scots followed a Bailey Sipos hat trick for a 5-1 win over Meredith College
MC Volleyball: Scots rally to defeat Huntingdon 3-2 behind Bonee’s triple-double effort - Trailing by two sets, the Maryville College volleyball team rallied for a thrilling 3-2 victory over USA South rival Huntingdon College on Friday afternoon in Maryville’s Boydson Baird Gymnasium.
MC Volleyball: MC falls to Piedmont in regular season finale 3-2 - The Maryville College volleyball team completed their regular season schedule to kick off Homecoming on campus with a 3-2 loss to USA South rival Piedmont College on Friday evening on MC’s Randy Lambert Court.
