Service. \nThe worldwide MC alumni service event is back for its sixth year this April! \nSince 2021\, more than 7\,000 hours of service have been given to communities around the world through KT Global. This year\, as we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Maryville College Alumni Association and deep alumni commitment to their alma mater\, we are calling on alumni to spend 150 minutes (or at least 2 hours) in service during April 2026. Help make this the best year yet for KT Global \nStart thinking now about how will you do good on the largest possible scale by serving in your own community. More information will be available soon on becoming a project leader\, joining a project planned in your area\, and/or submitting independent service hours. \nCheck out projects happening around the world and sign up!

DESCRIPTION:Project Leader: Anita Baker Lerman ’82 \nMC Alum Anita Baker Lerman ’82\, has been helping to support the work of the Mama Solly Foundation after meeting Solly in Victoria Falls Zimbabwe two years ago. In addition to providing support for young girls to access education\, the Mama Solly Foundation helps local women villagers enhance their economic stability and inspires entrepreneurship. In 2025\, Anita supported Mama Solly as a KT Global project and Mama Solly used the funds to establish the KT Grocery Store in a remote village. Funds were used to buy refrigeration equipment and  stock for the store and to provide spaces for local women to sell their own products. \nThe financial support for the grocery store\, in an area where shops are very limited\, helps provide upkeep\, food and other resources\, for the local workers who in turn make and sell things that generate their own income.  Mama Solly’s approach is very much in keeping with Isaac Anderson’s – she is always working to do good on the largest possible scale. \nSupport the KT Grocery Store virtually by donating $20 or more through Venmo @KTgroceriesZim.  \nPlease send a screenshot to ktglobal@maryvillecollege.edu to confirm your participation. A full report will be shared with donors on funds raised and distributed.
