Our talented students are ready to carry the banner and bring this inspiring story to life!\nNewsies is inspired by the real-life 1899 newsboy strike in New York City\, where charismatic leader Jack Kelly rallies young sellers to protest unfair pay. When powerful newspaper tycoons Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst raise prices at the boys’ expense\, the kids form a union to fight for their rights. Through song\, dance\, and camaraderie\, the “newsies” overcome corporate greed\, inspiring a city-wide\, youth-led movement for fair treatment.
