Summer Staff Positions
The Maryville College conference program is designed to serve community groups in need of housing, meals, meeting and/or athletic facilities for camps, conferences and special events during the summer months. To meet the demand of these groups, Corporate Sales & Events hires seven individuals for two positions:
1. The Conference Assistant position is a student work position and is May 25-July 28, 2018. This position is only for Maryville College students.
2. The Conference Manager position is a Maryville College staff position and is May 23-July 28, 2018.
Position One: Conference Assistant
Application & Hiring Process
The role of the Conference Assistant (CA) is energetic and fast-paced in the daily routine of hosting summer groups on campus. Job duties include various tasks related to the department such as registration of campers, posting campus signage, housing assignments, room setups, linen preparation and delivery, administrative, and other miscellaneous assignments.
Because of the work schedule, CAs are not allowed to have any other time commitments - including summer school.
CA compensation is valued at $3430. This is based on 35 hours/week or $2200 cash for the 9-week summer camp season PLUS free housing (valued at $1080) PLUS $150 flex dollars (for Metz meal purchases).
When hours worked per week surpass 35 hours, compensation is at the appropriate rate. Overtime will be paid when hours worked per week exceed 40. Pay is disbursed on the work study pay schedule and is subject to income tax. Because this is a live-in position, staff are required to live in the assigned residence hall.

The application time period for the Summer Conference staff will open March 1, 2018. We seek to assist all students in learning and applying job hunting skills. For this reason, the application process begins with submission of a resume and cover letter through "HandShake." Position Two: Conference Manager
The Conference Manager (CM) position is a full-time, temporary Maryville College staff position. It is based on 35-hours/week and is May 23 - July 28, 2018. It is a live-in position that is responsible for assisting with summer events including one-day events, commuter camps, residential camps and professional workshops. The position responsibilities include overseeing student staff and providing customer service for assigned events. For more information about this position, click the link below:
