MC closed Wednesday due to snow and ice

College will be closed Wednesday

Jan. 17, 2018

Maryville College will be closed Wed., Jan. 17.

Earlier today, College officials announced that offices would open at noon and afternoon classes would meet, but because road conditions have not improved, a decision was made to close the campus for the entire day.

Maryville College is a residential campus, so certain services will not close or cease operations.  Meals will be served in Pearsons Hall to those on the meal plan.  Security will continue to patrol the campus.  As for rehearsals, performances, practices, games, etc., students should check with faculty and staff in charge of those areas.

All are advised to use their best judgment when it comes to driving in inclement weather.

Maryville College is ideally situated in Maryville, Tenn., between the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Knoxville, the state's third largest city. Founded in 1819, it is the 12th oldest institution of higher learning in the South and maintains an affiliation with the Presbyterian Church (USA). Known for offering its students a rigorous and highly personal experience that includes an undergraduate research requirement, Maryville College is a nationally ranked institution of higher learning that successfully joins the liberal arts and professional preparation. Total enrollment for the Fall 2017 semester is 1,181.
