Ethan Morrison to present senior recital March 5

Maryville College music education (instrumental) major Ethan Morrison will present a senior recital on Mon., March 5, 2018 at 7 p.m.

The recital, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Clayton Center for the Arts’ Harold and Jean Lambert Recital Hall. A reception will follow the performance.

The program will include the following selections:  selections from “Circus Suite” by Michael Horvit; “Sonata in G Major Op. 49, No. 2 1st Movement” by Ludwig van Beethoven; “Nocturno Op. 7” by Franz Strauss; “Golliwog’s Cakewalk” from Children’s Corner by Claude Debussy; and “Concerto No. 3 in E-flat Major K. 447” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Chase Hatmaker ’14 will serve as an accompanist.

“I chose these pieces because they each mark a year of learning and performing at the College and represent a different semester of study,” Morrison said. Pieces from many different eras of music history are also represented.”

Morrison, who is from Lenoir City, Tenn., is a 2014 graduate of Lenoir City High School.
