WVLT reporter Whitney Kent came to campus today to interview softball player and MC junior Emilie Craven, who recently donated bone marrow to help save the life of a 50-year-old woman who is battling acute leukemia. The piece should air tonight during the 6 p.m. newscast.

Founded in 1819 and affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, USA, Maryville College combines a regionally and nationally ranked liberal arts education with an array of competitive NCAA Division III athletic teams. We currently sponsor 14 NCAA sanctioned sports, plus varsity cheerleading and have been a member of the NCAA since 1969. In the fall of 2000, Maryville was an active member of the nine-member Great South Athletic Conference in all of their sports except football. Beginning in 2012-2013, the Fighting Scots began competition within the USA South Athletic Conference in all of their sponsored sports.
